XDS RISE 4.0 (2021) – BLUE BELL
FAMILY RIDES, SUBURBIA, BIKES PATHS OR GENERAL FITNESS, THE NEW XDS RISE IS ONE VERSATILE WOMEN’S HYBRID BIKE.
MASTERS OF ALLOY
XDS makes some of the best aluminium (and carbon) bike frames in the industry. Yes, they’re that good.
The Rise 4.0 is no different.
Internal cable routing, semi-smooth welds and a superb frame all help the Rise stand out. It’s very light too, so it’s a piece of cake riding up hills.
COMFORT
The low-step through frame makes mounting and dismounting a breeze and somewhat more graceful.
Positioning is kept upright and relaxed. There is no aggression here. So if you haven’t ridden a bike in a while, you’re not going to finish the ride at the physio manipulating your back into place.
VERSATILE AND EFFICIENT
Large diameter 700mm wheels hold speed and momentum really well. In other words, you don’t need to pedal as much to cover distance, because one wheel rotation of these large wheels takes you further.
45mm wide tyres are good all-rounders. You can use them on tarmac, light/smooth gravel and dirt trails.
Lastly, the Rise is a stable bike. So for those who haven’t ridden in a while or you’re a little ‘wonky’ on a bike, then don’t sweat. The Rise is so stable and easy to ride, it will have you feeling confident quickly.
BRAKES AND GEARS
Hydraulic (or hydro) disc brakes are the best. They work in the dry or wet and help you stop confidently.
They also require much less maintenance too. No brake cables to replace or get rusted. No retenional brake cables or adjusting brake pads. Hydro brakes are much simpler and easier to maintain.
Shimano’s mid-level Altus gear system is designed for recreational riders. It’s also really easy to use. 2 paddles on the shifter allow you to quickly (and accurately) shift gears. There are also enough gears to get you up stubborn climbs.
